Accessibility
London has 5 major airports: Southend Airport, Heathrow Airport, Luton Airport, Stansted Airport, and London City Airport, which are all accessible and serve international flights from all over the world. London City Airport is the closest Airport to central London and one of the easiest and most accessible airports in London. Once you have arrived at the airport, you have a number of options for your journey to London. London City Airport is well-connected to the “Tube” network (London underground). The airport has its own stop on the Docklands Light Railway, which takes you to the Tube interchange stations such as Canning Town, Stratford, Bank.
Getting around London
London has a wonderful public transportation. Public underground, buses, bike or taxi are among the usual means of transportation. You can find more information here
Climate
In London, the climate is usually influenced by the ocean, and is therefore cool, humid and rainy, and bringing a variable weather with cloudiness, rains and shower. However, the climate is a bit milder than in the rest of Britain and in the summer months you can enjoy normal temperatures of up to 23 degrees. In autumn, from September to November, the temperatures gradually decrease. The weather is still often pleasant in September, especially in the first half, then gradually becomes colder. In London the sun is rarely seen from November to February, while from May to August it shines for an acceptable number of hours, usually from 4 to 7 hours.
Electricity
In UK, the power plugs and sockets are of type G. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.
Liability and Insurance
The Conference Secretariat and Organisers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of/damage to private property of participants. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
